What BLIK is
BLIK is a mobile payment scheme owned by the largest Polish banks and built into their banking apps. The shopper enters a six-digit code from the app, or confirms a push notification, and approves the payment. It handled 2.9 billion transactions in 2025 across online, in-store and person-to-person use, and counted 21.6 million active users at the end of June 2026.
The rest of the Polish checkout
- Pay-by-link fast transfers from gateways such as Przelewy24, PayU, Tpay and Autopay.
- Cards on Visa and Mastercard, dominant in stores but secondary online.
- Deferred payments, led by PayPo and Allegro Pay.
What it means for payment operators
In Poland, a checkout without BLIK and pay-by-link loses sales. Operators serving Polish merchants need local providers for both, next to cards and deferred payment. Connecting them once and activating them per merchant brings the Polish checkout in line with what shoppers expect.
