How are alerts activated for a merchant?
Alerts are switched on per merchant account, so you choose which merchants are covered. From then on, every Verifi and Ethoca alert for that account appears in your console, matched to the original payment, and each user sees only the alerts within their scope.
In detail
Alerts are switched on merchant account by merchant account. You decide which accounts are covered, rather than enabling the service for your whole portfolio at once, which lets you start with the merchants most exposed to disputes and extend coverage as you go.
Once alerts are active for an account, every alert received for it appears in your console. The platform matches each alert to the original transaction using the PSP ID, the ARN or card data, so the alert opens directly on its card and transaction details, with one click to the full payment record.
Who sees what
Verifi and Ethoca alerts are listed side by side, across all the merchants you cover, and can be filtered by source, status or merchant. Access follows your existing structure: each user sees only the alerts within their scope. Your merchants follow their own alerts inside your branded portal, where the source shown is Verifi or Ethoca and nothing else.
The goal is to act before a dispute turns into a chargeback. When the issuer sends an alert through one of these networks, the cardholder can be refunded, and the chargeback, its fee and its impact on the ratio are avoided. Activating alerts per account keeps that protection aligned with the risk profile of each merchant you serve.
