Does the platform decide whether a document is valid?
Content is extracted on upload and expiry dates are checked as a document lands, so an out-of-date identity document surfaces immediately. The decision stays with your reviewer, who approves, challenges with a reason, or attaches the document to the question it answers.
In detail
No. The platform prepares the review, and your reviewer makes the decision.
Each document is read as it arrives, and its content surfaces beside it, so your reviewer confirms information rather than transcribing it. Expiry dates are checked on upload: an identity document past its expiry date is marked invalid the moment it lands, instead of being discovered weeks later at partner review.
What the reviewer does
- Approve the document when it meets your requirements.
- Challenge it with a reason the merchant sees, such as an illegible scan, a missing quarter or the wrong side of a card.
- Attach it to the question it answers in the questionnaire.
When a document is challenged, the merchant uploads a replacement, which lands as a new version. Nothing is overwritten: every version stays on record with who reviewed it and when, so the file your auditor reads is the file as it happened.
Answers and documents sit side by side in the review screen, which makes weak answers and weak documents visible before approval. Keeping the decision with a person matters because validity depends on your policies, your partners' requirements and the context of each merchant. The platform removes the manual work around that decision and leaves the judgment where it belongs.
