Does NORBr work directly with merchants?

No. NORBr provides white-label payment infrastructure to PayFacs, PSPs, ISOs and ISVs, which serve merchants under their own brand. The merchant relationship, pricing and support belong to the operator, while NORBr runs the platform, the provider connections and the compliance underneath.

Operators, not merchants

NORBr sells white-label payment infrastructure to payment facilitators, payment service providers, independent sales organizations and software vendors. Those operators serve merchants under their own brand. A merchant on a NORBr-powered platform sees the operator's name on its console, checkout, statements and support; it does not see NORBr.

Who does what

• Operator: merchant relationship, pricing, onboarding decisions, support, provider contracts.
• NORBr: the platform, provider connections, routing, checkout, reconciliation, reporting, compliance of the infrastructure.
• Providers: acquiring, settlement, local payment methods.

Why this model

Operators own the merchant relationship because it is their business. An infrastructure provider that also sold to merchants would compete with its customers. Keeping NORBr invisible to merchants also means operators can switch nothing on the merchant side when they add providers, change routing or extend to new markets. Merchants looking for a payment provider should contact an operator; operators looking for infrastructure contact NORBr.

Merchants that reach NORBr directly are referred to operators on the platform in their market, since NORBr does not sign merchant agreements or process on a merchant’s behalf. That rule has no exceptions, which is what makes the white-label promise credible to operators.
